Dual Fuel Systems

A dual fuel gas system for a natural gas emergency generator is not a requirement. It is an option.

An onsite fuel supply is the requirement.

Offsite natural gas may be used if an automatic change-over to an alternate on-site fuel system is provided.

Although we think of natural gas as reliable, it is poor fuel for an engine on a backup (or emergency) generator.

NG ( Natural Gas) is subject to contamination, loss of pressure, and interruption.

A gas burner may tolerate these issues, while an engine is more demanding and may not operate at all if the NG supply is less than perfect.
